The building housing the Istanbul Cinema Museum was built in 1870 as a winter palace by the renowned businessman Agop Köçeyan. For many years this palace was used as Atlas Sineması. The idea of a cinema museum, born during the restoration, led to the creation of a significant center that would illuminate Istanbul's cultural and artistic life in every aspect.
